Hiraan Chatterjee, a versatile Bengali film actor, has showcased his talent through all kinds of films starting from romantic to comedy and even action. The variety tells enough about his versatility. His Nickname is Papai. He resides near Tollygunge. Hiraan was born from a financially challenged family in Uluberia, a sub-divisional town of Howrah, where he has spent his entire childhood days. He was from a very poor Family. He lost both of his Parents at a very early age. After spending 14 academically brilliant years in Uluberia, he started living in Maniktala Ashrom (a spiritual hermitage or a monastery) in Kolkata for his survival. While he was studying English (Hons.) in the evening Classes from Rabindra Bharati University, during the day time he started working for a shipping company. With his aspiration of becoming an actor he took the brave step to relocate to Mumbai, and started working at Reliance Industries to support himself financially. Parallely he did Management in Logistics & Supply Chain and Law in Customs. There after he left his Senior Manager’s Job for becoming an actor as soon as he got his break-through in 2007 for the Blockbuster Hit movie “Nabab Nandini”.
His first role as leading character was in the 2007 Bengali movie “NababNandini”, directed by Haranath Chakraborty, opposite Koe lMallick. The film gave Hiraan tremendous popularity and it turned out to be a blockbuster. This movie established Hiraan as a popular face in the top league of Tolly-Ville. After becoming star with his first film, he did not sign up for other films until he bagged the heavy roles in “Bhalobasa Bhalobasa” and “Chirosaathi” and again as expected by everyone, the film “Bhalobasa Bhalobasa” became Blockbuster hit & thus he got the title of a ‘Chocolate Boy’ of the industry. Henceforth, there was no looking back for Hiraan. He catered to all kinds of audience through his acting, intellect and glamour. He got critical appreciation for his characters in “Jackpot” and “Risk”. In 2012 His Film “Macho Mustanaa” converted him from ‘Chocolate Boy’ into ‘Macho’. He is now known as the “Macho hero” of the Tollywood. He went through a very hard work-out regime and restricted diet to achieve “Eight Packs” for this film. In the same year his film “Le Halua Le” received a huge response & became super hit. His latest film “Majnu” with Srabanti released in November 2013 & it was well appreciated by the Bengali film audiences.
Mostly we don’t know Hiraan is a good Singer too. He has done a Music Video Album Named “Bindaass” where he sang & Acted. It has already released in YouTube & Got a huge response. Hiraan took formal training in singing from Sashtriya Sangeet guru Shri. Jayanta Chattopadhyaya, son of sangeetacharya Shri. Bhismadev Chattopadhyaya.
